About Me

Ava Liz Mashburn shines with a winsome spirit and a songwriter’s heart. Fresh-faced and fourteen, her empathy and innocent maturity intertwine to create songs that take you on a journey into the deep experiences of life.

“I love to write songs,” says Ava Liz. “It’s a way I can express my feelings and my love for God and the people around me.”

Family is the heartbeat of Ava’s music. With three beloved siblings who are also fellow musicians, Ava’s world sparkles with shared adventures, rough-and-tumble camaraderie, and youthful creativity: Parker (vocals/mandolin/violin), Lucy (bass/vocals), and Pierson (drums/vocals), join with Ava’s soulful singing and guitar playing to create an extraordinary family band.

But this oldest child also has the heart of a mother. When her parents decided to take in several foster siblings, Ava became a pillar for her mom, Katy.

“Ava has a heart of gold, and she’s a wonderful role model,” says Katy. “I’ve been amazed watching her grow over the last few years. She’s become an incredibly thoughtful young woman.”

Music and mission run in Ava’s blood. Her late great-grandfather, the Rev. L.H. Hardwick Jr., founded the historic Christ Church which transformed Nashville and became renowned for its extraordinary choir which influenced Christian music for decades. His commitment to community and spreading the love of Christ continues to echo in Ava. “I want my music to help people see with Jesus’ eyes, to be a voice for truth in my generation.”

Whether it’s practicing her instruments or raising her bunny rabbits, Ava is looking to the horizon. “I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
